March 03, 2005 10:19 IST

The Aresty Institute of Executive Education at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Centre for Executive Education of the Indian School of Business are jointly hosting the Wharton Fellows, a group of global executives for the India Master Class programme in March this year.

This programme is part of Wharton's top executive lifelong learning network, Wharton Fellows, and the India programme is being jointly designed to provide maximum learning impact for them.

Jon Spector, vice-dean of the Executive Education programme at Wharton, said, "Combining both schools' networks and knowledge is a win-win proposition for them as well as the Wharton Fellows programme."

"The India Master Class programme will help participants gain deep knowledge of India as an important emerging market and sourcing destination," Shyam Viswanathan, associate dean of the Executive Education programme at the ISB said.

The executives will be visiting India from March 6-9 and the programme will open with an overview of the Indian cultural, political and industrial scenario. The programme will have speakers such as N Srinivasan, director general of the Confederation of Indian Industry, KV Kamath of ICICI Bank, Kiran Karnik of National Association of Software and Services Companies and Prabhu Chawla of the India Today Group.

The Fellows will also visit companies that are known models of excellence in Mumbai and Bangalore to learn about market dynamics and new ways of looking at the Indian consumer and business.

The Wharton Fellows, designed for senior leaders, is a part of the Wharton Executive Education Programme and future 2005 programmes locations include Washington DC, Copenhagen, Milan and Miami, where the Fellows will visit for gaining global experience.
