Western Union, Australia Post in JV

Western Union, a money transfer service provider, has tied up with Australia Post to provide facility to the Indian community in Australia to remit funds into the country.

"With this pact, Indians in Australia can send funds to relatives and family members in the country through our money transfer service. We will use about 5,000 post offices across India", Western Union director (South Asia), Anil Kapur said in Mumbai on Thursday.

In the first money transfer transaction, Indian Counsul General in Sydney M Ganapathi sent Aus$101 to Don Caihis his Australian counterpart in Mumbai.
