The truckers' indefinite strike entered the seventh day on Sunday, despite the Essential Services Maintainence Act in vogue at Madhya Pradesh.
"We will continue our strike till our demands, including a cut in levies and diesel prices were not met with by the centre," Madhya Pradesh State Truckers' Association president Ajay Sharma said.
"We have learnt that the state government has made plans to arrest some of us and we are prepared for it," he said.
The state transport commissioner N K Tripathi is sheduled to leave for New Delhi this evening where a meeting of the state transport commissioners have been organised by the centre tomorrow to find a solution to the truckers' nationwide strike.
The way out to deal with the situation was either the state government should discipline the truckers by making some arrests, or the centre should accept their demands as the people are facing hardship, a state transport department official said.
Meanwhile, the prices of vegetable and other essential commodities have gone up across the state as the result of the ongoing strike.
