Times Info to launch English film this summer

Times Infotainment Media, a part of The Bennett, Coleman & Co, will be launching its maiden co-production -- an English film 'Being Cyrus'.

The Rs 6 crore (Rs 60 million) movie will star veterans like Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia, Boman Irani and Saif Ali Khan. The movie will be released in the summer.

Munnish Puri, chief operating officer of the outfile, told Business Standard: "It's a cautionary foray into films for the group but we are looking at promoting well scripted success."

Puri said that apart from this film, the company will also release two mainstream Hindi movies and another film- 'A week's masala' in the UK for which it is about to finalise the technical crew.

The multiplex targeted urban audience flick 'Being Cyrus' is being jointly produced by Miracle Cinefilms and Serendipity Films Production, to be directed by Homi Adajania.

The company is in the process of signing up distribution network and also look at select film festivals where the film will be released.

TIML is looking at building a script bank that will back good scripts with a universal theme.

Puri stated that the company would be interested in funding good scripts that can connect to the Indian as well as the global audience.

Times Infotainment currently handles Radio Mirchi, the events company-360 degree and the outdoor advertising business.
