Tata Consultancy Services is expecting large outsourcing contracts in the financial year 2006-07.
Quoting Nasscom Strategic Review 2006, TCS said in its annual report for 2005-06 that over 300 global deals would come up for renewal in the current financial year.
Each deal is valued at around $50 million to over $1 billion and is mainly in the outsourcing, offshoring and strategic sourcing space.
"The opportunity involves acquiring new customers who will realise the potential benefits of outsourcing and bidding for large outsourcing contracts coming up for renewal," TCS said in its annual report for the year 2005-06.
The company's global scale and integrated capabilities allow it to bid for such deals by capitalising on the trend of contracts of multiple vendors replacing the traditional concept of multiple year contracts to a single vendor, it said.
Clients are more comfortable to partner with large global players with scale, uniform high-quality and security processes, which would be one of the key trends that would be in favour of the company to 'exploit these emerging opportunities'.
Moreover, clients are considering Tier-I Indian companies, including TCS for the mega deals (with decision cycle time of 8-12 months) and are demanding delivery excellence using uniform processes.
The report states that the company has a geographical footprint for marketing its offerings, with sales grouped under seven geographical headquarters like North America, Ibero America, UK, Continental Europe, West Asia and Africa, India and Asia Pacific.
