IT services company Tata Consultancy Services has tied up with Dr Edward de Bono and de Bono Thinking Systems (dBTS) to offer business transformation solutions to organisations.

In addition, the company has developed the de Bono Thinking 24x7 (dbt 24x7) - a digital version of Dr Edward de Bono's six thinking hats and lateral thinking techniques.

The US-based dBTS is a global firm, which is into conceptual thinking solutions. Dr Edward Bono is an authority in the field of creative thinking and innovation.

TCS chief executive officer and managing director S Ramadorai said, "TCS owns the intellectual property right for the dBT 24x7 software, developed by its creativity and innovation lab. This solution will be offered to global customers through the existing distributor network of dBTS, which is an organisation that supports over 900 certified de Bono instructors in 40 countries."

"As part of this pact with dBTS, TCS will continue to build and develop digitised assets in the creativity and innovation space," he added.

While declining to comment on the investments in this products, he indicated that the total investment a customer would have to make in deploying this solution and utilising it would be approximately $100,000.

TCS officials believe that the digitisation of Dr de Bono's thinking techniques will help organisations harness the creative potential of their associates. TCS has already implemented this solution internally and has implemented it for a few enterprises.

These companies include Hero Honda, Danfoss, Samsung, Zee Telefilms, Eicher Motors, ION Exchange and Tata Motors.

Dr Edward de Bono said that dBT 24x7 helps facilitate creativity, sustain innovation and is a good tool to guide effective thinking within an organisation.

He said, "Nothing is more important than human thinking. We have done very little about thinking for the last 24 centuries. We analyse a situation and provide a standard response."

"There is not enough creativity. All that is needed is a simple framework, which will help explore the subject and get the best out of everyone. It is just six different modes of techniques that helps everyone explore thinking," he added.
