Ravi Dubey quits Taj group

Ravi Dubey, senior vice-president -- corporate communications at Indian Hotels Company, the Tata group's hospitality company has decided to call it a day at the Taj.

The 48-year-old Dubey was one of the popular faces at the Taj group of hotels and has been part of the apex council of the company's strategy.

Bitten by the entrepreneurial bug, Dubey is looking at venturing into entertainment. " I am resigning from the company owing to personal reasons. I have been nurturing the dream of doing something on my own for quite some time. Since I am more interested in theatre and cinema, I will be doing something in this area, says Dubey. Dubey is married to actress Lillette.

Dubey joined the Tata group in 1977 as a Tata Administrative officer. He later joined IHCL as a sales executive and raised to the rank of senior vice president -- corporate communications. During his tenure at the Taj, Dubey had successful stints in sales, operations and projects.

Dubey served under various IHCL chiefs from Ajit Kerkar, R K Krishna Kumar and now Raymond Bickson. Recently, Ravi's brother Rajeev quit Rallis, as managing director and has now joined Mahindra & Mahindra.
