Siddharth Kak-promoted Surabhi Foundation for Research and Culture Exchange, in association with the Maharashtra government, is planning to set up a Rs 200 crore (Rs 2 billion) natural living heritage centre in Mumbai.

"The proposal for this hi-tech park, which will be developed on the lines of technology used in Disneyland, is awaiting approval of the state government", Surabhi FORCE executive trustee Siddharth Kak said.

He said this permanent living heritage centre would be developed in public-private-partnership model wherein the government would provide land as their stake and Surabhi FORCE would manage the park.

Kak said the Rs 200 crore park would be developed in two phases, including festival space of Mumbai Mela and hi-tech living heritage centre with advanced immersion and hologram technology.

"Noted multimedia designer Ranjit Makkuni is also associating with the living heritage centre and is a member of the advisory board for this project", he said. The private partnership, venue and cost sharing aspects is to be decided by the state government, he said adding the project would be replicated in other parts of the states also at a later stage.

"The park would take culture from television to on-ground. It would reach the real masses by housing the archives of the national heritage", he added.
