Eight Sensex stocks - ACC, BHEL, Cipla, Gujarat Ambuja Cement, HDFC, Larsen & Toubro, Maruti Udyog and TCS - on Friday touched an all-time high.
Out of 2577 stocks traded on Friday on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 59 scrips touched their all-time high level. Of these, 16 are from A group, 14 from B1 group, eight from B group, 13 from Z group and nine from T, TS and S group.
Stocks like ICICI Bank, Century Textiles, MICO, IPCL and IDBI, which had touched their all-time peak on October 4 are yet to get back to those levels.
ICICI Bank on Friday closed at Rs 545.05, which is Rs 70.85 lower than its all-time-high figure of Rs 615.90. MICO is yet to gain Rs 273.65 to get back to its all-time high level of Rs 2734.
Century Textile is still discounted from its all-time high by Rs 54.55 to close at Rs 304.05.
The notable among the A group stocks were Siemens, ABB, Aventis Pharma, GSK Pharma and Jaiprakash Associates.
Among the B1 group stocks, Crisil touched new all-time high of Rs 1,589.95, LMW at Rs 14852.15, Blue Dart Express at Rs 554 and Shopper's Stop at Rs 442.80. In the Z group category, Vishnu Sugar closed to a new high of Rs 2039.60, Rap Media at Rs 137.85 and Jaybharat Saree at Rs 234.
