Sony Entertainment Television India has roped in Reliance Infocomm as one of the main sponsors for the telecast of the Cricket World Cup 2003 matches.

The other sponsors for the live telecast are Pepsi, Hero Honda, Samsung, and Clinic All Clear and Close Up from Hindustan Lever's stable.

"For the live telecast we have six sponsors with Pepsi as the presenting sponsor. We may close one more slot," Rajat Jain, executive vice-president, said.

According to Jain, the channel has sold the complete advertisement space for programmes such as Extraaa Innings and live features such as Super Sixes and Fours. “Besides, we have sold about 75 per cent of the advertisement spots also,” Jain said adding that the channel has about 4,500 to 5,000 seconds of advertisement spot during the telecast.

The channel has Pepsi as the sponsor for Extraaa Innings and Levers, Yamaha, Sony and Hyundai as its sponsor for the live features.

When asked about the channel's expectation, he said, "We are hopeful of selling another 10 to 15 per cent of the slots more and expect the rest to be sold during the series."

SET also said that it has commissioned New Delhi Television to produce a World Cup build-up show titled Jung World Cup Ki to be aired on the channel.

"This show would be anchored by Rajdeep Sardesai. We are trying to package the show in such a way that it appeals to both a casual viewer as well as a serious follower of cricket," Jain said.

Jung World Cup Ki is a six-episode series, with the first episode starting on February 3. It will discuss relevant and current topics of interest pertaining to the World Cup.

"The show will talk about preparations, strategy, strengths, weakness and the chance of the Indian and other teams participating in the World Cup. We are bringing together eminent cricket and entertainment personalities in the show," Jain said.
