It was yet another sparkling session for the markets which ended the week on a positive note. The Sensex kissed 13,300 levels and the NIfty closed above 3825 levels.
The Sensex ended up 145.42 points or 1.11% at 13282.91, and the Nifty up 38.35 points or 1.01% at 3834.75.
About 1232 shares have advanced, 1221 shares declined, and 84 shares are unchanged.
ICICI Bank, BHEL, HDFC Bank and Guj Ambuja Cem were the top gainers on the Sensex.
The BSE Midcap Index was up 0.75% or 41.62 points at 5,596.21.
The BSE Small Cap Index was up 0.1% or 6.31 points at 6,504.60.
The BSE Auto Index was up 0.39% or 20.69 points at 5,323.64. Amtek Auto, Hero Honda, Tata Motors and Sundaram-Clayto gained.
The BSE Bankex surged 2.43% or 159.70 points at 6,736.57. Centurion BoP, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, UTI Bank and Kotak Mahindra moved up.
The BSE Capital Goods Index firmed 1.53% or 133.12 points at 8,831.19. Greaves Cotton, Ingersoll Rand, Thermax, BHEL and Siemens gained.
The BSE FMCG Index gained 0.05 % or 1.02 points at 2,072.54. Shaw Wallace, McDowell, Britannia, HLL and Nestle surged.
The BSE Health Care Index was up 0.92 % or 34.38 points at 3,766.08. Sterling Bio, Apollo Hospital, Orchid Chemical, Sun Pharma and Matrix Lab witnessed buying interest.
The BSE IT Index 0.2% ended flat or 9.58 points at 4,859.29. HCL Tech, I-Flex Solution, Moser Baer and Wipro gained.
The BSE Metal Index was up 0.94% or 86.06 points at 9,220.00.Jindal Saw, Guj NRE Coke, Mah Seamless and SAIL closed up.
The BSE Oil and Gas Index moved up 1.25% or 77.42 points at 6,264.08. Reliance, ONGC and MRPL ended up.
The NSE cash turnover was at Rs 8217.81 crore and the NSE F&O turnover was at Rs 26300.31 crore. The BSE cash turnover was Rs 4542.73 crore. Total market wide turnover was at Rs 39060.85 crore.
