Here's a 3-step process to buy a rail ticket through your Reliance mobile phone.
Step 1: Train and date selection
After logging on train reservation application, the user can choose the start and destination stations from drop down menu. In case the station is not featuring in the Main Station list, then the user can enter the first 3 alphabets of the station name to search for the station.
After choosing the route, user can invoke calendar to select date of journey. The application will check for valid dates of reservation after which the user can select the class, which he intends to travel.
On submission of this data the user is presented with the list of trains plying on that route. In the train selected by the user, the availability is displayed along with the fare details. Availability for the next 5 days for the specified train is also displayed for the user's convenience.
Step 2: Providing passenger details
User needs to enter the details of the passenger including address for delivery of the ticket. To ease the entry of names of passengers and other details, user can create the details of his family members in MYPROFILE which is saved for future use.
On selecting the required name from MY PROFILE, the details such as seat preference, meal preference, age, sex, which are already fed in MYPROFILE, are automatically submitted along with booking details. System automatically checks for locations serviced by IRCTC.
Step 3: Online payment for the ticket
Before the user proceeds to pay and book the tickets, he/she is presented with confirmation screen displaying the details such as the train number, date & class of journey, passenger details, delivery address and the total fare with Service charges.
User has to enter the details of his/her credit card to proceed for payment of the tickets booked.
Once IRCTC debits the card and books the ticket, the details of the ticket are displayed to the user.
