Indian Railways is all set to provide Internet services to passengers in running trains from the current financial year, Railway Board chairman, R K Singh said in Lucknow on Tuesday.
The board chairman told reporters that modalities for providing internet services in running trains had almost been completed.
Singh said that a separate budgetary allocation in the financial year 2003-04 has been made for this.
To start with the Internet services would be introduced in air-conditioned coaches of super-fast, mail and express trains, he said.
However, the date of launching the service and the charge for it to be taken from passengers was yet to be decided, Singh said.
