Anant Ambani, the 21-year-old son of Reliance chief Mukesh Ambani, has social media buzzing with twitterati discussing his over 108 kg weight loss, including in countries like Latvia.

According to data from iTrended.com, close to 7,000 tweets were exchanged from April 9 and till 0125 hours today not just in India but across countries like Latvia and Vietnam. It made it to the top 10 spot globally as well.

The young Ambani has shed 108 kgs in a span of 18 months and has won praise from the likes of actor Salman Khan and cricketer MS Dhoni.

In India, tweets about the scion trended at the second spot for over 85 minutes with netizens from Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bhopal, Delhi, Rajkot and Srinagar talking about the transformation.

Cities like Can Tho, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Riga also contributed to the buzz.

According to sources, Anant wanted to get fitter by his 21st birthday on April 9.

"So happy to see Anant Ambani, lots of respect n sooo happy fr him. Takes a lot of willpower to loose 108kgs in 18 mnths," Salman Khan tweeted.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni tweeted: "Wish u a very happy birthday Anant.u gave the best gift to urself by losing over 100kg.discipline and determination."
