Ingram Micro unveils PC at Rs 19,999

Ingram Micro India, one of the largest wholesale providers of technology products and supply chain management services, has launched a desktop personal computer for Rs 19,999.

The PC will be loaded with the Microsoft Windows XP operating system and will begin retailing at Rs 19,999. The product is targeted at small businesses and home office users.

Called the 'Magix' range the machine has an Intel Celeron 1.3 Ghz and 1.8 Ghz processor and is pre-loaded with Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. It comes at price points of Rs 19,999 and Rs 21,999.

The machines will also have 128MB SDRAM, a 40GB hard disk drive, floppy disc drive, Ethernet card, keyboard, mouse, 15" color monitor and a one year limited warranty.

For the corporate user, Ingram Micro has launched the 'Vesta' range that offers a combination of Intel Pentium 4 processor (1.7 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz with Hyperthreading Technology) and Windows XP Professional Edition at Rs 28,999 and Rs 36,999.

The other configurations will remain similar to that offered to the home user.

"We want to deliver value to our customers by offering products that provide an optimal mix of performance, innovation and true value for money. We are confident that the new range of PCs powered with Windows XP that we launched today will trigger customer demand significantly - scoring on both the price and value parameters," says S P Rajguru, acting country head, Ingram Micro India.

The new range of Ingram Micro PCs will be available through its distribution network of over 30 offices across India. Support for the product will be provided by Ingram Micro through their service locations.
