NIIT, the IT training pioneer, has been conferred the 'Top Training Company Award for 2004-05' by leading IT industry magazine, Dataquest.
P Rajendran, chief operating officer, NIIT, accepted the award at the Dataquest Top 20 Awards Ceremony, held in the capital, recently.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajendran, said, "This award is special as it flags off our 25th year celebrations. We owe this award to our demanding customers -- ranging from global corporations to bright young students, who challenge us to prepare them for the world of IT."
The findings of the annual survey of the IT industry, conducted by Dataquest, reported that NIIT increased its market share further and maintained its leadership position in the Indian IT education market.
In the year ending March 2005, NIIT grew to be 2.94 times the size of its nearest competitor. Placements of GNIIT students in the 6-month ending September 2005, exceeded the placements in the 12-month period ending March 2005.
The company's flagship GNIIT program, created with inputs from the employers in the ICT industry, remained the most popular program for career aspirants this year.
NIIT's SEI CMM Level 5 assessed knowledge solutions business, emerged as a clear leader in the field of knowledge management and e-learning.
