A new test to check employability

September 22, 2010 10:21 IST

The All India Management Association (AIMA) announced that it would conduct a new test to assess the employability of students passing out of Indian business schools.

The management aptitude and skill test (MAST) will attempt at forming a benchmark for individuals entering into the domestic job market, AIMA president Sanjiv Goenka said.

MAST, the first edition of which will be conducted on February 20, 2011, will act as an initial screening test for prospective employers.

At the same time, it will allow students from tier II and III B-schools to compete at a level-playing field with their counterparts from top-rung institutions.

"It will give an opportunity to everyone from different B-schools," Goenka added. So far, over 100 corporates have given their endorsement to MAST.

Major recruiters willing to avail the services of MAST include Deloitte, Dabur, Metlife India, Idea Cellular, Camlin, Alembic, HLL, Pfizer, Parle, PWC India, Mcafee, Nokia, Lenovo, JM Financial, Reliance Industries, Suzlon, and Tata Communications among others.
