Nasscom for IT pacts with Australia

Looking at Australia for partnership in the ICT arena, National Association of Software and Service Companies is exploring ways to foster alliances and is leading an IT trade delegation there for the purpose.

The delegation is an ongoing initiative by Nasscom and Australian Information Industry Association to increase partnership opportunities between emerging companies in the two countries. The delegation visit will coincide with CeBIT, the largest ICT event in Australia.

The delegation, led by Ganesh Natarajan, deputy chairman & CEO, Zensar Techonlogies and chairman, Nasscom Innovation Forum, will comprise of emerging Indian ICT companies seeking alliances with companies in Australia.

The participating Indian companies are Concen Tek Pvt Ltd, Nucleus Software, Prologic First India Pvt Ltd, HCL Technologies (Australia) Pty Ltd, Elitecore Technologies Ltd, and Pramati Technologies Limited among others.

During the five-day trip, the delegation will visit Sydney and Melbourne and activities will include a host of networking events and business seminar.

Kiran Karnik, president, Nasscom, said, "Currently, India s software exports to Australia is around $105 million. The large Australian ICT market has already attracted a number of Indian ICT companies. The Indian ICT market is also growing rapidly and offers significant potential for the export of advanced products and services from Australia."

Indo-Australian partnership can enable the transfer of skills and technology in both directions, thereby strengthening their competitive position, he added.
