The next time you book an air ticket, you may have to choose non-peak hours to get a low-cost one.

In an attempt to ease congestion at major airports, the government plans to hike navigation and other airport charges paid by airlines during peak hours (between 7 a.m and 10 a.m , and between 6 p.m and 10 p.m) and reduce them for non-peak hours (midnight and 5 a.m.).

Airlines may have to pay double charges for flying during peak hours, while non-peak hour tariffs may be halved.

The move will lead to a hike in airfares during peak hours. What do you think about this differential tariff system?

Are you willing you pay more for flying during peak hours? Do you think this will help decongest the airports? Tell us.
