Investor meet to be held on June 18

Last updated on: June 14, 2005 17:13 IST

Equitymaster.com, one of India's leading independent research portals, has organised its first ever investor meet at Hotel Taj Land's End, Mumbai on June 18, 2005.

The Equitymaster Investor Meet will have top executives from corporate India speak for the first time directly before retail investors. In the past companies have made company presentations, albeit only to FIIs and institutional investors.

The investor meet is designed to give retail investors a feel for the long-term opportunities and challenges that Indian companies have to deal with.

The Equitymaster Investor Meet will see six leading names from corporate India -- including Kalpana Morparia, deputy managing director, ICICI Bank; Romi Kanga, executive director, Tata Power; and Harsh Mariwala, chairman, Marico Industries -- getting together at the investor meet to present their business dynamics before select audience of 200 investors.

The other corporates who are likely to participate are Bajaj Auto, Zee Telefilms and Jet Airways.

The presentations by the companies will outline their history, their present business plan and, most importantly, their vision of the future. A 30-minute question and answer session will give the investors their first opportunity to question the companies on their business plans – something which has been an exclusive privilege of the FIIs and large domestic institutional investors.

This interface with retail investors will allow them to better understand their businesses and allow the investors to make more informed investment decisions.
