Indian Oil Corporation on Thursday said it will consider giving a job to one of the siblings of S Manjunath, who was killed by oil mafia in Uttar Pradesh in November.
IOC Chairman S Behuria, who handed over a cheque for Rs 30 lakh to Manjunath's father M Shanmugham, promised to consider the family's request for a job and an LPG distributorship.
"Behuria promised to consider the request," a company spokesperson said.
The company has already decided to give a monthly pension of Rs 10,000 to Manjunath's dependent besides offering to takeover the education loan availed by him for his studies at IIM.
But Punjab National Bank, from where the loan was availed, has decided to write off the Rs 1.73 lakh dues owed by Manjunath.
The bank has also decided to remit an insurance claim of Rs 1.50 lakh to his family members after settlement by LIC, a press release said.
Manjunath, an IIM graduate, was murdered on November 19 by oil-adulteration mafia in Uttar Pradesh.
