Nissan unleashes X-Trail at Rs 19.80 lakh

The Nissan X-Trail. Photo: AFP / Getty ImagesNissan Motor Company, the Japanese automobile giant, has entered the Indian market with its first offering, the Nissan X-Trail.

The sports utility vehicle has been priced between Rs 19.80 lakh and Rs 23.00 lakh (ex-Delhi).

Nissan is also likely to source spare parts from India for its worldwide operations. The company also plans to expand into the Indian market, and to set up call centres by entering into the business process outsourcing arena, according to Yasuaki Hashi-moto, senior vice president, Nissan.

The Nissan X-Trail will be imported from Japan. It has a 100kW CRDI engine with a top speed of 180 km per hour while the 1-100 km/hour is just 11.5 seconds.
