With cricket fever setting in, LG Electronics India private Ltd has set a sales target of Rs 1200 crore (Rs 12 billion) during the Pakistan team's tour to India and signed Pakistan captain Inzamam-Ul-Haq as its brand ambassador.
"Inzamam and Sourav Ganguly will feature in a set of three TV commercials promoting our consumer offer Khelega Kya through which we aim to sell Rs 1200 crore of LG products," said Salil Kapoor, head (marketing) for LGEIL.
LGEIL has earmarked Rs 60 crore (Rs 600 million) as advertising and promotional budget for the campaign, he said.
This promotion entails assured gifts on every purchase of an LG product with extended warranties, he said.
LG has kept a sales target of Rs 9000 crore (Rs 90 billion) for 2005 and plans to spend in excess of Rs 200 crore (Rs 2 billion) for advertising, promotion and events to push the sales. Last month, the company had signed film actor Zayed Khan to promote its high-end GSM mobile phones.
