Driving the classic Rolls Royce or a racer Ferrari will no longer be a distant dream for those willing to join an exclusive car club set to open in Dubai soon.

Come January and Scuderia 250, the Middle East's first exclusive supercar club, will offer its members the opportunity to drive all kinds of luxury cars from the latest models of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley and Aston Martin to good-old classics like the Rolls Royce, Porsche, Maserati, Mercedes and Maclaren.

Scuderia 250 will be officially launched in Dubai next month and will become operational from early 2009; it will open its service in Abu Dhabi later.

The club will offer a limited number of memberships in both the individual and corporate categories.

"Why have one super luxury car when you can have many?" asked Adrian Pieraccini and Iain Watson, directors of Scuderia 250.

The club, they said, offers the ultimate way to drive a collection of the world's best supercars without the drawbacks and costs of ownership.

"The club oversees the endless details and headaches that most successful business people don't have time for, such as insurance and storage, maintenance and depreciation, leaving members free to concentrate on sheer driving pleasure. Quite simply, it's a really cost-effective way to drive a selection of supercars," Adrian said.

So the next time a brash youngster tries to impress you with a supercar, remember, it may be hired from the club.
