The Indian subsidiary of the USA-based Computer Science Corporation will set up its first innovation centre outside America in Noida for creating frameworks and reference architectures to solve the needs of clients globally.
Announcing the setting up of the centre on Wednesday, CSA office innovation head Srinivas Polisetty told reporters that the centre would be operational by April this year.
The $15 billion global IT services company will also set up such centres in London and Copenhagen, but they have not been officially announced yet, he said.
Refusing to divulge the number of headcount that the centre will recruit, CSC chief innovation officer Lemuel Lasher said it would depend on what is the scale of business that the centre would cater to.
CSC India currently has 4,400 staff at its delivery centres in Hyderabad, Noida and Indore and its officials expect that the company would continue to keep adding 75 per cent to its headcount every year.
Pointing out that the purpose of innovation centre is not to innovate but to create economic values, Lasher said these facilities would leverage both business and technology as well as theory and practice to create these values.
Lasher and Bill Koff are on a 5-day tour of India to identify how the office of innovation can be leveraged and more comprehensively integrated with each of the six operating units of CSC's global offices.
The company currently does not cater to any Indian company. However, they do provide services to Indian ventures of MNCs like ICICI Prudential.
