Tarun Shah, the CEO of share broking house Sharekhan, sees great potential for investment in power and pharmaceutical sectors.
He told reporters in Coimbatore that pharmaceutical shares were likely to move up further within a short period, since the health sector was growing fast in India.
There was also good potential for investors in the power sector, since a lot of investments were expected, including from multi-national companies, Shah said on Thursday.
Shah, who was in Coimbatore to open a branch of Sharekhan, said the company was striking 'the right balance' between tradition and technology to cater to all categories of investors and traders by providing online channel with innovative products like Speedtrade and SpeedtradePlus.
The company, with a 3.5 per cent market share in the retail segment and four to five per cent in the institutions segment, was adding 10,000 customers per day, Shah said.
Sharekhan was currently doing daily volumes of over Rs 200 crore (Rs 2 billion) and has more than 150 share shops in 80 cities, with presence of Internet through its premier portal, he claimed.
