India, China and Korea emerge as real hi-tech centres that can challenge the US 'hegemony' in the field of technology, an expert in the field has said.

"Tennis once had a few stars who won every tournament. That's how it was in technology where the US won every tournament. This situation has changed. Today, there are Indian, Chinese, or Korean companies that can threaten US hegemony, because they can win," Alex Serge Vieux, a leading opinion maker in the field told business daily Globes.

When asked if the US anxiety on job flight is justified, he said, "absolutely, but its too late".

"These countries have sacrifice and talent, there's a strong value of creativity, and local governments directly and indirectly help financing of technological activity and companies. Capital is available for technology, and there is awareness of the change in the global IT food chain," he said explaining the reasons.

"The future is rosy and bright in India and China," he added. Vieux, publisher of 'Red Herring' and an opinion maker in the field, has been named one of the most influential people in the European technology community for several years running by the 'Time' magazine's Digital Europe A-List of the top 25 people shaping the region's new economy.

Commenting on the possibility of Israel putting up a fight against the emerging Asian giants to retain its position as a hi-tech power, Vieux said, "It's like a monkey challenging a gorilla".
