IIT, Israeli IT school in pact

The Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur will sign an agreement with the prestigious Technion Israel Institute of Technology this week on exchange and collaboration in research projects, a media report said.

The agreement, called the Fairfax County Educational Accords, will be signed under the auspices of Virginia's Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, at its IIT 2005 Conference, business daily Globes reported.

The FCEDA, in a press release, stated Indian and Israeli businesses

would benefit greatly from the signing of the exchange and collaboration agreement between the two preeminent technology institutes.

"A representative from IIT visited Israel in July last year and we could see possibilities of cooperation in a lot of fields between the two leading institutes," project coordinator at the Technion, Naftali Moser, told PTI.

The IIT 2005 Conference for graduates of IIT, will feature participants from across North America, India and other parts of the world, the report said.
