IIT Kharagpur on Tuesday announced a post-graduate diploma in business management programme for working executives.
The programme would be a two-year part time diploma course for executives in Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar and Kharagpur.
The PGDBM programme would consist of four semesters, starting from the last week of July. The curriculum would consist of 4-5 theory subjects in each semester and one industrial project in the summer quarter.
Kalyan Chakravarti, dean of Vinod Gupta School of Management and programme co-ordinator, Kalyan K Guin explained that this was the first programme of its kind being offered within the IIT system.
They said that the need for the programme was felt by working executives who were unable to pursue full time study due to various commitments, but at the same time needed to upgrade their managerial knowledge.
