IIM-Kozhikode to retain old fee structure

June 25, 2004 01:43 IST

The board of governors of the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, on Thursday night decided to retain last year's fee structure (Rs 110,000) for the current academic year.

"IIM-K will retain its old fee structure and offer more assistance to need based scholarships," seniormost member of the Board, F C Kohli, told reporters in Kozhikode.

Asked if the meeting took a final decision on the hike in grant for NBS, Kohli, who presided in the absence of IIM-K chairman, A C Muthaiah, currently abroad, said further discussions would be held on the issue. The meeting decided to help candidates get loans from financial institutions.

There was no decision on increasing the number of students to be admitted to the institution.

Human Resource Development Ministry representative Sudeep Chatterjee, who also participated in the meet, said the ministry would now be in a position to take a final decision on the fee structure since all the six IIMs in the country have decided to revert to the old fee structure.
