Five Indian hotels/restaurants -- Aman-i-Khás, Rajasthan; Park Hyatt, Goa; and Oberoi Rajvilas, Jaipur; Congo, Goa; and Olive Bar and Kitchen, New Delhi -- figure in Condé Nast Traveler's 2004 Hot List, which ranks the world's top hotels.
While Aman-i-Khás and Park Hyatt feature in Condé Nast Traveler's 100 Hot Hotels list, Oberoi Rajvilas has been ranked as one of the world's top lodgings for service.
Congo finds a mention in the list of 30 Hot Bars across the globe, while Olive Bar and Kitchen is featured in the 67 Hot Tables List.
Aman-i-Khás, Rajasthan: The Aman Resorts Group offers great service and style in its elegantly designed camp outside Ranthambhore National Park. The tents have a subdued elegance about then and are sport a nouvelle-colonial décor, says Condé Nast Traveler.
Three more tents house a spa, a library, and a dining salon in which chef Jonathan Phillip serves mouthwatering delicacies, says Condé Nast Traveler.
The best time to visit is from October through February, and a doubles tent would cost $2,300 for four nights, including meals.
Park Hyatt, Goa: Condé Nast Traveler says that the 251-room resort is beautifully designed and has great supposedly 'the largest swimming pool in India, an observatory with a deep-space telescope, a theatre, a cooking school, an Ayurvedic spa; and the food is superb. The beach at the resort is flawless, says Condé Nast Traveler.
The best time to visit is from December through February. A doubles room would cost $250 for a day.
Oberoi Rajvilas, Jaipur: This five-star hotel, about 7 km from the 'Pink City,' is situated on 32 acres of gardens, pools and fountains. The Oberoi Rajvilas is a fort with 'decorated arches, colonnades, pillars, reflective pools, cool beautiful interiors and tented canopies with block prints and hand embroidered fabrics.'
