Dubai's Better Homes sets up shop in India

September 28, 2006 15:38 IST
Dubai-based real estate agency Better Homes has launched its Indian operations by opening a branch in Mumbai.

The company, a brokerage firm, will offer sales, leasing, short-term rentals, property management, commercial advisory and project sales and marketing services to its customers.

"Judging by our 20 years of experience in real estate market, we find a lot of scope for professional real estate consultancy in India," Better Homes Founder-CEO, Linda Manhoney told reporters on Wednesday evening.

Better Homes India CEO Raja Kushal said the company would look at working both in the primary as well as in the secondary property
markets.

Exponential growth in home loans, dropping dependency ratio, rising consumer expenditure and government's transparent real estate policy prompted the company to open operations in India, he added.

Kaushal declined to divulge the revenue target in the first year of operation and the investment it has made to foray into the Indian market, the company, however, said that it would open more branches across Maharashtra before stepping out in other metros.
