In its bid to beat a sluggish market, country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero Honda is introducing three new variants of its entry level and executive segment bikes priced between Rs 35,800 and Rs 55,450 (ex-showroom Delhi).

"This has been a difficult year for the two-wheeler industry but we have been able to beat the industry trend and keep sales momentum going. The three new bikes are an extension of what we have been doing to keep the market interest alive," Hero Honda Motors sr vice-president Anil Dua told PTI.

The company is introducing refurbished variants of two of its 125 cc motorcycles- Glamour and Glamour Fi (fuel injection) and entry level bike CD Deluxe.

While, the new variants of Glamour will be available between Rs 45,800 and Rs 47,700 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Glamour Fi variants will be priced between Rs 51,450 and Rs 55,450 (ex-showroom Delhi).

"The 100 cc bike CD Deluxe will also be seeing a new version as we have introduced self start option," he said adding the bike will be available in four trim levels priced between Rs 33,700 and Rs 36,900.

Asked about the sales expectations, Dua said, "Year-to-date we have good growth but the pressure will continue for the whole of this fiscal. However, we have the momentum and we are hopeful that we will be doing better than the industry."

While the two wheeler industry sales dropped by 14.68 per cent in November, the company fared better with bike sales dropping only 1.4 per cent at 267,424 units as against 271,251 units in the same month last year.

The new introductions are a part of the company's plans to introduce 12 models in a span of 18 months, of which eight have already been launched.

"We have four more to go till next September," he said, however declining to disclose details of the future product line.

Dua said the impact of the excise cut and the government's move to improve liquidity should help in getting demand back on track but said lack of credit availability remained an issue.
