US firm zeroes in on India

January 06, 2005 10:41 IST

US-based global organisation and human resources management consultancy firm Hay Group sees India as one of the three main markets for its investments, besides China and Russia.

The group has kicked off its Indian operations, by setting up an office in New Delhi. The organisation has presence in 42 countries.

Hay Group solves business issues of CEO's, other senior executives and top HR leaders by providing customised solutions that leverage the organisation and human resources to deliver tangible bottom-line impact.

"Our association with India dates back to the 1960s, when the late Dr David C. McClelland, professor at Harvard and co-founder of McBer Co. (which was later merged into the Hay Group), did a lot of pioneering work in the areas of human motivation and economic achievement with entrepreneurs in Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat," said Tharuma Rajah, General Manager (Asia Pacific) of Hay Group.

Without having a physical presence in India, Hay Group has during the past two decades serviced key clients across the entire taxonomic spectrum of India Inc (including family-owned businesses, multinational corporations and public sector enterprises) on various cutting-edge business solutions.

"Setting up of our own office in New Delhi will help us service our existing clients more efficiently and expand our client-base. We are making significant investments in India to provide our clients with the highest levels of client service and world-class consulting teams," Gaurav Lahiri, Operations Manager of Hay Group India, said.

Hay Group has also set-up its Information Services Division in India. Hay Information Services helps clients in over 50 countries utilise salary benchmarking information to maximise return on salary investment and to develop effective pay practices.

"We are building our Indian database with a globally consistent methodology, which provides clients with accurate information that helps them take crucial salary decisions using world-class delivery options like Hay PayNet and our Internet-based reporting platform," Manon Gerritsen, HIS Country Manager, said.

The New Delhi office of Hay Group has been staffed by members from other offices of the Hay Group as well as local talent with the office poised for rapid growth in line with client needs.
