Germany is keen on investing in specific areas in West Bengal as part of a bid to strengthen Indo-German bilateral ties.

Germany is mainly interested to invest in areas like, biotechnology, nanotechnology and health equipment, a delegation from German province led by Saarland's Minister of Economic Affairs and Labour Hanspeter Georgi said after meeting West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.

They also explored possibilities of investment in technical education and research through exchange programmes between the two countries, Georgi said.

The delegation discussed details on the infrastructure required for setting up of projects in these areas.
