Air Deccan offers 1 lakh tickets for Rs 999

After initiating ticket bookings through SMS, low-cost carrier Air Deccan on Saturday announced the opening of bookings for one lakh tickets at Rs 999, inclusive of taxes, for travel between February 20 and April 10.

The bookings will open on Sunday morning, an Air Deccan spokesperson said.

The fares would be applicable on select sectors including Delhi-Kolkata, Delhi-Mumbai, Kolkata-Guwahati, Ahmedabad-Hyderabad, Pune-Chennai, Mumbai-Hyderabad, Mumbai-Kolkata, Bangalore-Calicut and Bangalore-Mangalore.

Tickets could be purchased through the airline counters, travel agents, the airline's website, Reliance Web stores or Club HP petrol pumps, the spokesperson said.

Air Deccan also became the first airline in the country to launch SMS-enabled booking services through mobile telephones. The passengers could avail of the latest service by registering themselves through the Air Deccan website, following which they have to send an SMS to a short code '676723', the carrier said.
