Market for colour televisions is expected to show 15 per cent growth in April-September 2004-05 after the segment saw a fall of 10 per cent in volumes in the same period last year, according to a survey.
The Consumer Durable Goods Survey by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry reveals that while fall in sales of black and white televisions will continue, other sectors will show a robust growth. The consumer electronics segment will grow nine per cent in the first six months of 2004-05, the same pace it witnessed last year.
In the white goods segment in first two quarters of 2004-05, refrigerators are expected to grow 12 per cent as against five per cent in the same period last year. Growth in air-conditioners will be 25 per cent in April-September 2004 as against 12 per cent in the same period last year.
Electronic components segment will grow 19 per cent in April-September 2004 as against 18 per cent in the same period last year. In this segment tape recorder components will see a negative growth of 0.5 per cent this year as against the growth of 15 per cent in the same period last year.
