United States-based enterprise ASP firm Corio Inc, which set up its offshore centre in Bangalore in May, plans to ramp up its strength to over 100 by the 2003-end.

The Nasdaq-listed utility computing company plans to replicate the work done at its Silicon Valley centre and would also move its tele-marketing outfit to Bangalore, Corio Technologies senior vice president Parmeet S Chaddha told reporters.

He, however, declined to comment on the firms' investment plans in the country.

Asserting that the Corio application on demand was around 30 per cent cheaper than outsourcing from offshore destinations like India, Chaddha said the firm's business model works on knowledge re-use and automation of delivery systems.

Corio delivers enterprise application of ERP and CRM software from PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle, Siebel and Ariba for customers on a transaction basis than on project work.

The annual revenue per employee of Corio was five times more than that of an Indian IT service firm, he said.

Chaddha acknowledged that moving to its offshore outfit in India was part of the firm's strategy on leveraging cheap and quality labour.

He said Corio had over 85 customers and had invested over $100 million in processes and technology development.
