General Motors India on Monday announced a loyalty scheme for its customers under which it will offer a bonus of Rs 20,000 on purchase of the Chevrolet Optra NY edition.

The loyalty scheme, which will remain till June 30, 2005, will be offered to existing GM customers on a first come first serve basis, a company release said.

A select 100 customers will be eligible to avail this offer, it added.

As part of its efforts to reward existing customers, GM has launched several initiatives like mileage rallies, interior enhancement packages, special events like movie premiers, and associations with Tanishq and Taj Holidays.

The loyalty scheme is applicable for Chevrolet Optra NY edition, which has been one of the successful variants on offer by the company.

Since launch in July 2003, GM has sold over 15,650 units of Chevrolet Optra in India, including 9,191 in 2004, helping the company to record a 73 per cent annual growth. Another 2,213 Optras have been sold in the first quarter of 2005.

GM India is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors Corporation. Besides the Chevrolet Optra, the company manufactures the Chevrolet Tavera, Opel Corsa, Opel Corsa Sail and Opel Swing at its facility in Halol, Gujarat.
