Global consultancy firm Cedar on Thursday announced plans to make India the next hub of activities for its consultancy operations along with the Middle East.

"India and Middle East are going to be the next hub of activities for the consulting practice and we expect our retail consultancy business to grow to 25-30 per cent from the present 10 per cent in the next 2-3 years," Cedar's head of India operations Sanjiv Anand told reporters in Mumbai.

India with only one retail square feet per capita as against three in Malaysia and six in Dubai had tremendous scope for growth, he said, adding Cedar which has been active in the Middle East where the buyer behaviour was similar to India had a good opportunity here.

Anand said the company saw significant growth in outsourcing to India and was looking at offshore capabilities to potentially assist its PeopleSoft clients globally.

"Leveraging our global expertise and our 10 year experience in India, we do intend to contribute to the core growth with core growth areas of the Indian economy," he said.
