Enfield unleashes Bullet Sixty-5 in the US

June 30, 2004 16:32 IST

Royal Enfield has launched its international model 'Bullet Sixty-5' in the United States, its second-biggest export market.

The latest offering, sporting a retro classic styling, carries a 500cc, four-stroke single cylinder engine with 5-speed gearbox and electric start.

"The launch of the 'Bullet Sixty-5 in the US, our second-largest international market after the United Kingdom, is in line with our strategy to increase presence in foreign markets, where we see a tremendous potential," Royal Enfield

CEO Siddhartha Lal said.

The company said the model was 'a big success' in the UK where it was launched in January last year. Royal Enfield motorcycles are being exported to the US for more than a decade and the company has a network of over 100 dealers in the country.

Other popular Bullet/Royal Enfield models in the US are the US Classic and Military.

Apart from the US, Royal Enfield motorcycles are exported to over 25 countries covering the UK, Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
