Bavarian Minister woos Indian traders

November 02, 2006 14:03 IST

Indian businessmen would succeed in the European market due to the region's high per capita income and purchasing capacity, Bavarian Minister for Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology, Erwin Huber said on Thursday.

Bavaria, a free state in Germany, has good infrastructure and is centrally located in Europe.

The country's assured connectivity with all the other nations also makes it a potential investment destination, Huber said while inaugurating a seminar on Indo-Bavarian business relations.

Huber, who is leading a business delegation to the country, said the state had a favourable environment for business with a stable government at the helm, coupled with high security measures. It is also believed to have the lowest crime rate in Europe.

The automotive industry was the major driving force in the state, apart from software, bio-technology, nano-technology and electronics, he said adding that Indian businessmen should come to Bavaria and benefit from the deepening of ties between the two countries.
