Govt finalises bank brass reshuffle

The finance ministry has finalised the top-level reshuffle in public sector banks.

Those selected have already given their consents on Tuesday after they got letters from the ministry on Monday for appointment in different banks.

In the lateral movement, current Indian Bank chairman and managing director K C Chakrabarty will move to Punjab National Bank while T S Narayanasamy of Indian Overseas Bank will head Bank of India.

Four executive directors will be appointed as CMDs. Canara Bank's A K Misra will join as chairman, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Allen C A Pereira of OBC will move in as chief of Uco Bank, Uco Bank's S A Bhat will head Indian Overseas Bank, Indian Bank's M S Sundar Rajan has been promoted as CMD of the same bank.

As many as 12 general managers have been selected for appointment as executive directors.

J M Garg of Indian Bank will join Punjab National Bank, Punjab and Sind Bank's G S Bedi will move to Canara Bank, Albert Taura of Bank of India will join Central Bank, D L Rawal of PNB will move to Canara Bank, OBC's A Subramanian will join Indian Bank, K K Agarwal of Bank of Baroda to move to OBC, G Narayanan of BOI will join United Bank, S C Gupta of BoI will move to BoB, V K Dhingra of Union Bank will be new ED of Uco Bank, A D Perulkar of BOB will join OBC, Bhaskar Sen of Canara Bank to join Corporation Bank. B M Mittal of PNB to move to Dena Bank.

The above names will be forwarded to the department of personnel and training and to the Cabinet for approval.The appointments will be notified during March-June. The selected bankers had given interview in January.
