Nine public sector bank EDs named

Sunanda Lahiri, general manager handling investment and international business, at Kolkata based UCO Bank, is set to take over as the executive director of United Bank of India, replacing, K N Prithwiraj.

Prithwiraj is tipped to be the chairman of Oriental Bank of Commerce.

As many as nine general managers of public sector banks were promoted to the post of ED in either the same bank or a different one and they would be receiving letters of consent shortly.

P P Malya, general manager of Canara Bank is set to take over as the ED of Syndicate Bank replacing Kamalakar M Shet. K M Shet assumed charge as ED at Syndicate Bank on November 2002.

C P Swarnakar, at present a general manager at Punjab National Bank is also slated to be elevated to the post of ED in the same bank replacing K C Chakroborty.

U S Kohli, a general manager at Punjab and Sind Bank who is currently holding the post of chief vigilance officer at Union Bank is slated to take over as the ED of Dena Bank replacing M V Nair.

Garola, holding the post of a general manager at Union Bank is slated to take over as the executive director of Bank of India soon replacing M. Balachandran.

Gopalakrishnan, a general manager at Union Bank is taking over as the executive director of Corporation Bank, while Mahajan of Bank of India would be the next ED at Bank of Baroda replacing K Ramakrishnan.

Malya who is at present the general manager of Bank of India, would be elevated to the post of ED at Oriental Bank of Commerce. Malya would be replacing H A Daruwalla.

Raghuraman, a general manager at Central Bank of India would be the next ED at the same bank, replacing V N Saxena.
