The United Kingdom's leading small domestic appliances brand Morphy Richards and Indian major Bajaj Electricals Ltd are jointly coming out with India-specific products that could find place in homes of the Indian Diaspora, a top BEL official said on Tuesday.

"We (the two companies) are developing India-specific products at our manufacturing units at Noida and Mumbai that could also be global products for the Indian population overseas," BEL's Vice-President and Head-Appliances P S Tandon said in Bangalore.

Work is on India-specific mixer grinders, dry iron, ovens and toasters in association with Morphy Richards, he said.

Meanwhile, BEL has announced the launch of Morphy Richards range of premium appliances that would be marketed and serviced by it in several markets in India.

Appliances division, he said, clocked Rs 100 crore (Rs 1 billion) turnover during 2002-03 and for the current fiscal the target is Rs 150 crore (Rs 1.50 billion), including Rs 20 crore (Rs 200 million) from Morphy Richards products, Tandon said.
