India's Bajaj Auto Ltd said on Monday its Akurdi plant in Pune would resume working for six days a week, 20 months after the company cut the number to five.
The company is the country's second-largest motorcycle maker, behind Hero Honda. It also makes scooters, mopeds and three-wheeled motorised rickshaws.

The company said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange that it had restored the number of working days to six after a review of the market situation for its products, but did not elaborate.
The firm is more bullish on its motorcycle business, where it is a leader in the entry and premium segments of the market, but lags in the middle executive segment, which is the largest.
The company's shares closed down 2.9 per cent at Rs 484.55 at the Bombay exchange, whose benchmark index lost 0.86 per cent.
