The Toyota Fortuner will be similar to the Endeavour in performance and features, but will have an edge when it comes to perceived after sales support
India’s favourite SUV, the Toyota Fortuner will get replaced by a new generation model this year. The new Fortuner is built on a new platform that will be lighter and even stronger. This new generation model is expected to take on competition like never before. Let’s see the Toyota Fortuner 2016 vs Ford Endeavour vs Chevrolet TrailBlazer comparison.
Design
The Toyota Fortuner 2016 looks a bit more sleek and stylish than the current vehicle. It has an aggressive styling and look more premium with the overall styling treatment which includes sleek headlamps and taillamps and restyled bumpers. The long rear glass are stand outs.
The Ford Endeavour is also a completely new SUV which looks huge and muscular. It has a simplistic styling which looks premium. The vehicle looks sleek and rugged at the same time. The massive size and menacing road presence set it apart.
The Chevrolet Trailblazer is also a massive in appearance. It looks intimidating and muscular too. The Chevy though is not as good looking as the Endeavour, but its huge proportions add a lot of brute value to this SUV.
Interior
The Toyota Fortuner 2017 will have an all black interiors. There is a large size touchscreen system and sleek looking AC vents on the top. There is dual zone climate control and then loads of space for knick knacks. There is quite a similarity with the Innova Crysta.
The Endeavour has pleasing interiors which look premium too. A high seating stance gives a commanding view of the road. The Endeavour is feature loaded as well with dual zone AC, touchscreen with navigation, leather upholstery and electric seat adjustment.
The Trailblazer has premium looking interiors too, but not as good as the other two. Features too, it is a bit less in comparison. All three SUVs have seven seats.
Engine
The Toyota Fortuner will come with 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre diesel engine. These will produce a power of 147 bhp and 177 bhp, respectively. This will come with a six-speed manual and automatic transmission transmission options. It will also have 2WD and 4WD option.
The Endeavour comes with a 2.2-litre and a 3.4-litre diesel engine. These deliver a power of 158bhp and 198bhp respectively. There is a six-speed manual and automatic transmission. There is an option of 4WD, however only with the 3.2-litre option.
The Trailblazer has a 2.8 litre diesel engine that produces 198bhp of power. It has a strong performance and comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Trailblazer comes only with a 2WD and this is its drawback compared to the other two.
Price
The Toyota Fortuner is expected to be priced between Rs 28 lakh to Rs 35 lakh (on-road). The Ford Endeavour is priced between Rs 26 lakh to Rs 35 lakh (on-road) and the Chevrolet TrailBlazer is priced at Rs 29 lakh (on-road).
Verdict
The Chevrolet TrailBlazer is a great performer but loses out on features and also a 4WD option. The Ford Endeavour is feature loaded has better interiors and also a 4WD. The Toyota Fortuner (above) will be similar to the Endeavour in performance and features, but will have an edge when it comes to perceived after sales support and Toyota’s Brand Equity.
