Plans to expand Asia Pacific business

Ma-Foi Management Consultants Ltd, India's largest HR services provider, plans to expand its Asia Pacific business setting up offices in China, Vietnam, Phillipines and Brunei by middle of next year.

The company already had set up an office in Shanghai which it plans to operationalise by December this year, Kamal Karanth, Head of APAC operations, Ma Foi, told PTI.

Ma Foi also opened an office in Bangkok this week. The company was investing Rs 2.50 crore (Rs 25 million) for these centres and had earmarked about Rs five 5 crore (Rs 50 million) at the start of the year for the new operations, he said.

Also in the plans are opening offices in Kuwait, Saudi

Arabia, Egypt and Qatar, he said adding that the firm was also keen on launching Ma Foi Academies at a number of places.

"We will have Ma Foi Academies in all developing markets in a year and half," the APAC head said. According to Karanth,

"Middle East is the most profitable region for our operations because the need for oil and gas professionals is huge and we need to be closer to the market to take advantage of this," when asked about the company's focus on the middle east region being more than other regions. Karanth said there was a global shortage in IT and Oil& Gas sectors.

"In fact, about 30 per cent of our business comes from oil and gas sector," he said.
