Minissha Lamba: 'Life of Pi--Sheer excellence. My eyes cudnt believe d beauty tht I saw. Hv to watch it 3 more times in a theatre..the 3D is THAT good!'

Asha Bhosle, who recently returned to Mumbai from a short vacation, got nostalgic on Twitter.

'Always enjoyed watching a city wake up. Mumbai is a late riser but the energy in this city is commendable. In the 50's I used to live in Borivali. Used to catch early morning local & go to work. It was fun talking to commuters,' she tweeted.

'Today's youth may not know that there were trams in Mumbai. I used to commute in trains & trams before I could afford a car,' she added.

'I got paid Rs100 for my first song. My husband & I celebrated with roadside batatavada. Mumbai is the city of dreams. Some dreams come true,' she added.

Australian government honours Fearless Nadia and Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan has been felicitated by the Australian government for his noteworthy contribution to Indian cinema.

'Australian Oz Fest/ Government celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema, with showing of Fearless Nadia film, and honor me. Humbled !' Bachchan tweeted.

Actress Mary Evans, better known as Fearless Nadia of Hindi films, was also honoured at the event. Her 1940 film Diamond Queen was shown, accompanied by a live Australian orchestra directed by musician Ben Walsh. 

'Paid an excellent tribute to her and the cinema of the time .. played the film and a live Australian fusion orchestra played live ..Played live to the scenes of the film almost as background music .. pretty darn awesome !! Unique !!' he added.
