RIL Q3 net up 14% at Rs 4,008 cr

Mukesh AmbaniReliance Industries said on Friday its October-December quarter net profit jumped 14.48 per cent to Rs 4,008 crore (Rs 40.08 billion) on higher revenues from gas sales.

The standalone net sales of the petrochemical giant grew 80 per cent to Rs 56,856 crore (Rs 568.56 billion), from Rs 31,563 crore (Rs 315.63 billion) in the corresponding period a year ago, RIL [Get Quote] said in a filing to the National Stock Exchange.

During the quarter, the revenue from petrochemicals business rose 17 per cent year-on-year to Rs 14,756 crore (Rs 147.56 billion).

Besides, revenue from oil & gas segment, which includes exploration, development and production of crude oil and natural gas, more then trebled to Rs 3,530 crore (Rs 35.3 billion) during the December quarter.

Also, the revenue from refining business, which includes production and marketing of petroleum products, more than doubled to Rs 48,000 crore (Rs 480 billion).

In a weak market, RIL was quoting at Rs 1,065, up one per cent over the previous close on NSE.
